This is written in plain English on purpose. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, there are no ads, and nothing about your children is ever public.

What we collect

Your account — your name and email address, used to sign you in and let other parents you connect with recognise you.

Your family profile — details you choose to add about your children (such as first names and ages) so the app can suggest age-appropriate activities. This is always optional and only ever visible to the circles and events you choose.

Your content — the events, messages, photos and reviews you create. Messages and event photos are visible only to their participants.

Your location— used while you're searching so we can show what's nearby. Our product analytics only ever record your approximate area (at postcode-district level, like “SE10”) — never your precise coordinates.

Usage data — which features get used, so we can see what's working and fix what isn't. This never includes the content of your messages.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data, to anyone, for any reason.
  • We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers — there are no ads in Village.
  • We never make information about your children public or searchable.
  • We never read or analyse the content of your private messages.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (Ireland) and handled in line with UK GDPR. Access within our systems is restricted and logged.

Sharing you control

Village is built around private sharing: circles are invite-only and events are visible to their guests. When you invite someone by web link, that link shows the event details to whoever holds it — share it the way you'd share the plan itself.

Your rights

You can delete your account from inside the app, which removes your profile and personal data. You can also email us at hello@getvillageapp.co.uk to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes and contact
